Faith-Based Learning
Heavenly Steps Childcare incorporates age-appropriate Bible stories and songs, daily prayers, as well as planned and spontaneous programming activities while in the comfort of a safe, fun, and faith-centered home atmosphere.
Adventures
Heavenly Steps Childcare encourages safe-risk and messy play! This helps children to build critical thinking skills, creativity, and nothing is more joyful than a child that had a day full of fun. After all, children are only little for a little while.
Heavenly Steps Childcare would love to expand our adventures on-the-go! In the meantime, our adventures will be local and most likely walking transportation (within reasonable distance) or parent/guardian transportation may be requested.
We’d love for our daycare families to be a part of what we do, but also understand that this may not always be possible.
Family participation is always encouraged as Heavenly Steps Childcare recognizes the need of building and maintaining positive partnerships between families, the community, and the centre.
Play-Based Learning
Heavenly Steps Childcare believes that children learn so many valuable life-skills through everyday play.
By providing children with real tools, hands-on activities, new experiences, and exploration, children can enhance their fine motor and gross motor skills, learn about cause and effect (Ex: When I do this, that happens), logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and so much more.
This is also why we believe that free-play is so important! Through play-based learning, children learn values such as how to be compassionate, patient, and respectful towards one another. Children also build confidence through opportunities and experiences where they are able to do things on their own, which fosters overall growth and independence.
